US aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, is going through one of it’s toughest period in the company as the company is embracing for a 5bn$ loss and counting.
To remind, Boeing suffered scrutinized attention after major two aircraft accidents (Lion Air in November 2018 and Ethiopian Airlines in March 2019) when it was found out that their new Boeing 737 Max aircraft have a system flow which caused the tragedies.
Since the accidents, all Boeing 737 Max across the globe have been grounded with airlines suffering in their operations. As part of compensation for it’s customers Boeing is about to pay almost 5bn$ (4.9) to cover costs related to the global grounding of its 737 Max aircraft such as schedule disruptions and delays in aircraft deliveries.
The worldwide grounding of Boeing 737 Max planes is now in its fifth month and disruptions to air travel are set to continue for several months more thus making it 1bn$ cost per month for Boeing. However, it does not look promising of stopping as airlines are preparing for further months without it’s 737 Max aircraft in operations.
In a statement, Boeing also said its “best estimate at this time” is that the aircraft will return to service in the last three months of this year.
