Although ADA Volando ended its operations in March, it is difficult to leave it without any comment for an airline that had operations for 32 years.
Due to financial problems, including difficulties in insurance payments, ADA Volando ceased operations and closed the company as of March 29.
According to the report of Valora Analitik, ADA “had to renew the insurance of its aircraft at the end of month of March, payment that due to the financial problems that it crosses can not be specified and leads the company to declare its bankruptcy. In this way, their planes will be on the ground. ”
Aerolineas de Antioquia (ADA) was one of the most important regional airlines in Colombia. Its center of operations was the Olaya Herrera Airport in the city of Medellín, from where it operated national routes in Antioquia and neighboring regions. It was founded in 1987 for the purpose of charter flights. In 2002, regular flights operated from Medellín. In 2019 although the company has not been closed, the directives decided to cease operations given the adverse financial conditions.
ADA continues to respond to its passengers
Since operations were suspended, on March 29, the airline has always had the priority to respond to its customers. For this reason, to date 195 passengers have been endorsed in other airlines for a value of $ 36,298,863 and 3,168 tickets have been reimbursed for a total value of $ 682,609,445.
We hope that this story will be a reminder to other airlines about the difficulty of the aviation business and, in order to survive, they must adopt to the market.
It were majestic 32 years for this Colombian pearl in the skies.
